It's Blogtastic!

Yay! We are home again. After many fights and a lot of hard work the kitchen is half-finished! This is where we are at now: It is livable, all cupboards that have doors are childlocked and I am sure a mouse has died in our spare room where everything for the new kitchen and from the old kitchen is being kept. You can barely move in there but when we can I will make Michael look for it and dispose of it. I just won't go in there for the next couple of weeks.

Avoidance is key when it comes to mice, for me. They even pooed all over my cookbooks. I wanted to throw them all away but Michael wouldn't let me. So I put them all in the microwave and now they all smell funny. For those who know me well I have actually been quite restrained and only thrown away half the stuff they touched and washed the rest 5-10 times.

Regression at the Gaffney Household

Part of renovating the kitchen is that I have had to move into my parents house. I have been living there for 2 weeks now. You have to know that I haven't lived there since I was 19 years old. It has been challenging to say the least.

Every morning I awake to mum screaming "Bwob! Get out of the toilet" or "Bwob! make your own coffee" or just general Mum stompiness as she noisily gets ready for work. At night it is pretty similar with more stompy (this time in high heels) and more "Bwob! Do the dishes" "Bwob! Come up stairs I want to talk to you". Then there's dad, knocking on the door when I'm in the bathroom everyday and telling me not to use to much toilet paper. He is of the opinion that 3 squares is enough for any situation. This is just a small insight into life at the Gaffney household. The rest is to scary to mention publicly!

Don't get me wrong. I appreciate them putting us up. But I can't wait to be home again.

What do you think of the red, is it too red? It looks patchy coz it's wet and that was the first coat.
